Privacy Policy
Last updated 16 October 2026
Ultra is a running game made by SuTechs, Bengaluru, India ("we"). This policy says what Ultra collects, why, who can see it, how long we keep it and how you can delete it. It covers the Ultra apps for Android and iOS and this website. Ultra is published as an update to the Eco Run app; this policy replaces Eco Run's.
The short version
- Ultra uses your location only while you record a run. It never tracks you otherwise.
- Your full route is private. Friends see a trimmed map that hides where your runs start and end. Strangers never see any map.
- You can play without an account. Your runner lives on your phone until you choose to save it with Google or Apple.
- We don't sell your data, show ads or use an advertising ID.
- You can download your data and delete your account in the app, any time.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your runner: the first name you give it, its look, your bib number and friend code, your weekly goal, the city nearest to where you run (worked out on your phone; only the city's name is sent) and your answers to the first questions (what makes running hard, how often you run). | To show your runner on the road, set your quests and league, and let friends find you. |
| Your runs: precise location (GPS) while you record a run, with distance, time, pace and splits; the phone model and Android or iOS version; signs of a faked location. | To measure the run, move your runner and check that every run is fair. |
| Friends and squads: who you add, block or report, cheers and nudges, squads you join. | To run the social parts of the game and keep them safe. |
| Your account: an anonymous account made on your phone, and, if you save your progress, the email address of the Google or Apple account you sign in with. | To keep your runner safe and restore it on a new phone. |
| Notifications: a push token for this phone and your notification choices. | To send the reminders and friend updates you choose. |
| Crash and usage data (Google Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics): crash reports, the device model and OS, and which screens and features are used. | To fix crashes and make the game better. No advertising ID is collected. |
Ultra doesn't collect your contacts, photos, health records, phone number or exact home address. When you share a run card, the image is made on your phone and goes only where you send it.
Location
Ultra asks for location when you first tap RUN, and uses it only between GO and finishing the run, including with the screen off (Android shows a notification while it records). Ultra does not use location in the background at any other time.
Your raw track, with its real start and finish, is stored privately: only you can see it, and our fair-play checks can read it. Friends see a trimmed version: we remove the first and last part of every run, up to your privacy zone (200 m, 500 m or 1 km, set in Settings, Privacy and safety). This hides where your runs start and end; it does not guarantee that someone who sees many of your runs could never guess where you live. You can stop friends seeing your maps at any time, and that covers your past runs too.
Who can see what
- Everyone in Ultra can see your runner's name, look, level, bib and where it is on the road, for example in your league. If you choose "Friends only" for your name, others see "Runner #0427" without your city.
- Friends see your runs' distance, time and pace, and their trimmed maps unless you turn maps off.
- Nobody but you sees your full route, and nobody can send you messages: Ultra has preset cheers and nudges only.
Invite links contain a secret code, not your bib. Anyone with your link sees your first name, look and where you are on the road. You can reset your link in the app.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your data. Two service providers store and process it for us, under their own security and privacy terms:
- Supabase hosts Ultra's database, accounts and run files.
- Google Firebase delivers notifications (Cloud Messaging) and collects crash and usage data (Crashlytics, Analytics).
Their servers may be outside India. Data is encrypted in transit. We may disclose data if Indian law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Your runner and runs are kept until you delete your account.
- When you delete your account, your runner leaves friends' roads at once, and everything is permanently erased within 30 days.
- An anonymous account that never got a bib is erased after 7 days, and one that never recorded a run after 30 days.
- Inbox messages are kept for 30 days, and old friend requests and squad invites are cleared after 30 and 7 days.
Your choices and rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and wherever you live, you can:
- See and take your data: Me, Settings, Account, Download my data.
- Correct it: change your name and look in the app.
- Delete it: Me, Settings, Account, Delete account. Without the app, see Delete your account.
- Change what you share: your privacy zone, who sees your name, friend maps and notifications, in Settings.
- Withdraw consent by deleting your account, and raise a grievance with us (below) or with the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Ultra is for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, please use Ultra with your parent or guardian's permission. If you believe a child under 13 is using Ultra, write to us and we will delete the account.
Security
Data travels over HTTPS. Each runner can read only their own private data; everything others see comes through checks that apply blocks, your privacy settings and the trimmed maps. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you if a breach affects your data, as the law requires.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it applies. The date at the top shows the latest version.
